Phoenix Coyotes 2, Los Angeles Kings 3 FINAL
Phoenix Coyotes 2, Los Angeles Kings 3

GAME: Los Angeles Kings (26-19-16-7) at Phoenix Coyotes (20-28-16-5).

TIME: Wednesday, 9 p.m. EST.

The Los Angeles Kings will look to stay in playoff contention and extend the Phoenix Coyotes' winless streak to 10 games when the teams wrap up their home-and-home series in Phoenix.

Luc Robitaille scored the game-winner at 16:50 of the third period as the Kings beat the Coyotes 3-2 on Tuesday. Robitaille became the 10th player in NHL history with at least 650 goals, and the first left wing to do it.

``I wish I knew. I would have kept the puck. I feel so stupid now,'' said Robitaille, whose 1,363 points are just six shy of Johnny Bucyk's league record for left wings.

Derek Armstrong and Alexander Frolov also scored for the Kings, who won for the first time in four games (1-2-1) to remain tied with St. Louis for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Anson Carter, who came over in a trade from Washington on Monday, made his debut for Los Angeles. Carter, who also played for the New York Rangers this season, has struggled somewhat this season, posting just 15 goals and 12 assists.

``I didn't have my legs under me, that's for sure,'' Carter said. ``I think the lack of rest showed. I just tried to play smart. (Andy Murray) is a really well-prepared coach and the team is well-prepared out there, so I didn't want to embarrass myself the first time out.''

Defenseman Aaron Miller played in his first game since Dec. 10 after missing 39 with a pinched nerve in his neck.

``It's great to have Aaron back in the lineup,'' Murray said. ``He's obviously a force on the blue line, and his game should only get better with practice.''

The Coyotes have not won since beating Columbus 3-2 on Feb 20. They are 0-5-2-2 during their winless streak.

Goalie Brent Johnson, who was acquired from St. Louis on Thursday, made his second straight start for Phoenix and finished with 34 saves. Johnson, who went 4-3-1 with a 2.43 goals-against average in 10 games with St. Louis this season, has given up a total of four goals so far with Phoenix.

Phoenix winger Tyson Nash missed his second straight game with bruised ribs.
