Los Angeles Kings 4, Calgary Flames 4 FINAL OT
Los Angeles Kings 4, Calgary Flames 4

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Normally, a hat trick from their star and two two-goal leads would be enough for the Calgary Flames. Not Tuesday night.

Jarome Iginla scored three goals and the Flames were ahead 2-0 in the first period and 4-2 in the second before the Los Angeles Kings rallied for a 4-4 tie.

``We've got to be hungrier,'' Iginla said. ``We had two two-goal leads, we scored enough goals to win, but we didn't. It's not so much the quantity of shots we're giving up, it's that they're very prime scoring chances.''

Dean McAmmond also scored for Calgary.

Eric Belanger, Esa Pirnes, Alexander Frolov, and Luc Robitaille had the goals for Los Angeles, which has just one regulation loss in its last 13 games (5-1-6-1).

``We keep getting at least a point,'' Belanger said. ``It's a credit to all the guys in this room and to the coaching staff to get us ready every night. We believe in ourselves and are having a lot of fun playing together right now.''

Calgary had a power play for the final 1:14 of overtime after Kings defenseman Jason Holland received an interference penalty for throwing his broken stick and knocking the puck away from Iginla as he rushed into the Los Angeles zone. The Flames were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

McAmmond put Calgary ahead 3-2 1:31 into the second on a slapshot that squeezed under the pads of Kings goalie Roman Cechmanek, who was then replaced by Cristobal Huet.

Less than three minutes later, Iginla scored on a breakaway four his 24th goal of the season and the fourth three-goal game of his career.

Despite the rough start, Huet finished with 21 saves, including a sprawling stop off Chris Clark with two minutes left in regulation.

``We've battled hard every time we've played lately and I have to give a lot of credit to the guys in the room,'' said Huet, who made three saves in overtime. ``Everybody really stepped up big and considering the conditions, we have to be happy to get a point when you come back twice like that.''

Frolov pulled the Kings to within a goal seven minutes into the second when he beat Flames goaltender Jamie McLennan on a breakaway.

Robitaille made it 4-all with less than three minutes left in the period, converting a pass from Derek Armstrong.

After Iginla scored two early goals, Belanger scored to pull the Kings within 2-1. With less than four minutes left in the first, Pirnes tied it when he stripped the puck from Martin Gelinas and scored on a breakaway.
