LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Phoenix Coyotes worked their late third-period magic again against the Los Angeles Kings.

Ladislav Nagy tied it with 1:10 left in regulation and Shane Doan punctuated his 600th NHL game with a short-handed goal to help the Coyotes overcome a three-goal deficit and tie the Los Angeles Kings 4-4 Thursday night.

Jan Hrdina and Jeff Taffe scored power-play goals for the Coyotes, helping end Los Angeles' four-game home winning streak. It was the fifth time this season the Coyotes tied a game in the final two minutes of regulation. Nagy, Daymond Langkow and Paul Mara each had two assists.

Kings captain Mattias Norstrom scored with 4:54 remaining in regulation to end a 113-game scoring drought. Alexander Frolov and Lubomir Visnovsky scored less than 11/2 minutes apart, and Luc Robitaille connected on a five-on-three power play to help the Kings build a 3-0 lead through the first period.

"We got off to a good start, and I think we felt way too comfortable and too good about ourselves," Norstrom said. "We let them back into the game -- a game we're outshooting them, outplaying them and outscoring them."

The Coyotes, who lead the NHL with 10 goals in 4-on-4 situations, gave up one by Norstrom that put the Kings ahead 4-3. Ziggy Palffy fanned on a one-timer from short range after getting a pass from Jozef Stumpel. But Palffy grazed the puck and Norstrom redirected it past Coyotes goalie Brian Boucher for his first goal since March 30, 2002.

Phoenix tied it after Langkow stripped Norstrom of the puck behind the net. Nagy, whose first career hat trick helped beat the Kings in their previous meeting, scored from 10 feet.

"I just saw a little corner open and I shot for it," Nagy said. "I guess I was lucky it went in, but I've been struggling and I'm just happy to get one. I play good against them. I don't know why."

Boucher stopped Palffy on a breakaway with seven seconds left in overtime.

The Coyotes got on the board with a five-on-three goal at 4:07 of the second. Hrdina got a cross-ice pass from Nagy and shot high on Cristobal Huet for his third goal.

Phoenix closed to 3-2 just 20 seconds into the third. Nagy's shot from the right circle struck the skate of Kings defenseman Jason Holland and caromed to Mara, who had an open net to shoot at but was robbed on a stick save by Huet. Taffe quickly banged home the rebound.

"This is a tough tie," Huet said. "We didn't get the job done the last part of the game."

Langkow intercepted Joe Corvo's cross-ice pass just inside Phoenix's blue line and took off on a two-on-none rush with Doan, who got the puck at the last second and made it 3-3 with 13:08 to play.

"To have a 3-0 lead and lose it, that shouldn't happen. It's inexcusable," said Kings forward Trent Klatt, who was on the ice for Phoenix's last two goals.

The Kings outshot Phoenix 14-5 in the opening period and scored on two of their first four shots against Boucher, who hadn't allowed more than two goals in his previous three starts.

Frolov backhanded a rebound between Boucher's stick and the right post after Eric Belanger was stopped on a shot from the slot. Visnovsky connected on a short wrist shot at 4:58, his second goal in two games following a 20-game drought.

The Kings, 4-for-50 on the power play their previous 12 games, made it 3-0 during a two-man advantage just 13 seconds before the first intermission when Robitaille tipped in Jaroslav Modry's one-timer from the high slot.

"The first 20 minutes of the game were embarrassing," Phoenix coach Bob Francis said. "It's getting to the point where we have to get into some individual faces in here. Some guys are trying to hide behind other individuals, and they will eventually be exposed."
