

LAS VEGAS (AP) -T.J. Hensick scored the lone shootout goal, giving the Colorado Avalanche a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night in an NHL preseason game at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The shootout ended when the Kings' Derek Armstrong sailed his shot high over the net.
Colorado tied the game at 3 late in the third period when Jordan Leopold wristed in a pass from Joe Sakic. Matt Hendricks and Darcy Tucker also scored goals for the Avalanche (2-0-1).
Los Angeles (3-0-1) got power-play goals from Anze Kopitar and Matt Moulson. Vladimir Dravecky also scored for the Kings, who fell to 8-2-2 in exhibition games in Las Vegas.
Los Angeles had claimed a 4-3 shootout win at Colorado on Wednesday.
