BRIAN ENGBLOM
KINGS RADIO COLOR COMMENTATOR 1991-95


A former NHL defenseman, Brian Engblom completed four seasons (1991-95) as the Kings’ color commentator.

In a career that spanned 11 seasons, Engblom played for Montreal, Washington, Los Angeles, Buffalo and Calgary. Aside from being part of three Stanley Cup- winning teams with Montreal (1977, 1978 and 1979), he was also an NHL second team All Star in 1981-82, played for Canada during the 1981 Canada Cup and was a member of Team Canada in the 1983 World Championship tournament. Engblom played for the Kings from 1983-86, appearing in 202 games with Los Angeles and scoring 9-59=68 with 190 PIMs. Engblom finished his NHL career with 29 goals and 177 assists.

In addition to his Kings broadcasting chores, Engblom served as commentator for ESPN and ESPN2 1992–93 until 2003–04, during the regular season and the playoffs.

A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Engblom attended the University of Wisconsin, from which he was drafted by Montreal. He currently works as an analyst for Versus.
