[9]In 2011-12, John Stevens served as Kings interim head coach from December 13-19, 2011 after Terry Murray was relieved of his duties on December 12, 2011. On December 20, Darryl Sutter was officially named head coach of the Kings.

[8]In 2005-06, John Torchetti served the last 12 games as Kings interim head coach (5-7-0) after Andy Murray was relieved of his duties on March 22, 2006.

[7]In 1994-95, GM Rogie Vachon served as interim head coach for the last seven games of the season (3-2-2) after Barry Melrose was relieved of his duties on April 19, 1995 (13-21-7).

[6]In 1987-88, GM Rogie Vachon filled in as interim head coach for one game (0-1-0) after Mike Murphy was releived of his duties after a 7-16-4 start to the season on Dec. 5, 1987. Robbie Ftorek took over as head coach on Dec. 9, 1987, and posted a 23-25-4 mark to finish the season.

[5]In 1986-87, Patt Quinn agreed to a contract to become the President and General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks for the 1987-88 season. As a result, Quinn was removed as Kings head coach on Jan. 10, 1987 and assistant coach Mike Murphy took over.

[4]In 1983-84, assistant coach Rogie Vachon filled in as interim head coach for two games (1-0-1) after Don Perry was relieved of his duties 50 games into the season (14-27-9) on Jan. 27, 1984 and prior to Roger Neilson taking over as head coach. Neilson took over on Jan. 30, 1984 and posted an 8-17-3 mark.

[3]In 1981-82, Don Perry finished the season as Kings head coach after Parker MacDonald retired 42 (13-24-5) games into the season on Jan. 11, 1982. Perry posted an 11-17-0 mark.

[2]In 1971-72, GM Larry Regan started the season as the Kings head coach, but following a 2-7-1 start, Regan named Fred Glover head coach on Oct. 30, 1971. Glover went 18-42-8 and was fired on April 28, 1972.

[1]In 1969-70, Johnny Wilson finished the season after Hal Laycoe was relieved of his duties after 24 (5-18-1) games on Dec. 13, 1969. Wilson went 9-34-9 before being assigned to Springfield on Aug. 7, 1970.
