HAVE THE KINGS WON THE STANLEY CUP?:

3 to go.

LooKING Back:

Since the New York Rangers were unable to beat the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last Wednesday night, we thought we'd treat Rangers fans to a time when they could beat the Kings in Game 1 of the Playoffs... April 8th, 1981!!!

Yes, before Suits and and White Collar... the USA Network showed ice hockey.

I'm just excited to see some old-time hockey, where players respected each other... unlike today's game!

This photo of Ed Hospodar, forever.

FYI, that is color analyst Mike Eruzione saying "Barry lets go a wicked shot."

OMG how is Mike Eruzione still not an active color analyst in the NHL?!?

Hmm... I wish there was some way to see the stats on that last goal.

Thank you, 1981 technology!

Ron Duguay just did what he always does when he comes to LA... score easily.

Much like today, the USA Network used the showcase of NHL Playoff hockey to advertise some of the networks scripted show... like their 1981 hit about a group of young male proctologists that love sports:

Finally, this USA Network broadcast of Game 1 of the Kings-Rangers Playoff series from April 4th, 1981 had a special bonus feature. History of Playoff OT!

As always, special thanks to Spike Coffman, who is The Royal Half's LA Kings Video Historian.

As created by Jesse Cohen from All The Kings Men Podcast... The Moulson Index™ highlights an opposing player from tonights game who has the opportunity to score against his former employer, the LA Kings.

Tonight's Moulson Index Spotlight is:

BRIAN BOYLE, CENTER

In 7 games versus the LA Kings in his career, Boyle has 1 GOAL & 2 ASSISTS
