Kings To Open Playoff Action at STAPLES Center Tomorrow Night at 7PM For Game 3 vs Sharks
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings will host Game 3 of their First Round series against San Jose tomorrow, Tuesday, at STAPLES Center with game-time set for 7 p.m.
The Kings encourage all fans to arrive to the arena early to enjoy all the pre-game festivities as the club kicks-off the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs at home. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early for the pre-game show set to begin at 6:45 p.m.
Before the game, the Kings will host a Fan Fest outside of STAPLES Center (on Star Plaza and on the street) featuring a hockey rink, interactive games, and a DJ. The Fan Fest begins at 4:30 p.m. and many of the Kings partners – including Coke, Lemonheads, Travel Alberta, LA Times, Welk, CA Lottery, Toyota, FOX Sports West and a Beer Garden – will be featured as part of the pre-game enjoyment.
VIP Doors in the arena open at 5 p.m. and all doors open at 5:30 p.m. Rally Towels presented by McDonald’s, Toyota, San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, Mercury Insurance and Travel Alberta will be given to all fans as they enter. The puck is slated to be dropped at 7:15 p.m.
The Kings for the fifth straight season are holding a “Beard-A-Thon” during the postseason where fans are encouraged to grow their own Playoff Beards and help raise money for the Kings Care Foundation. Fans can sign up for the Beard-A-Thon at the Kings Care Booth (section 103 of the main concourse) throughout the game.
At Team LA at STAPLES Center, “Playoff Beards” will be sold to fans of all ages as the public joins in on the fun.
The Kings Care Foundation will also host a special Authentic Nickname Jersey Auction throughout the game. Simply text KINGS to 52182, visit the LA Kings mobile application, go online to kings.myab.co or stop by the Kings Care Foundation’s booth located at section 103 on the main concourse. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Kings Care Foundation, the LA Kings award-winning charity and purchasers may obtain a charitable receipt for tax purposes upon request.
In celebration of Earth Day the Kings Care Foundation invites fans to bring their used batteries from home to the game for recycling, courtesy of Waste Management. Fans can visit the Fan Fest booth to drop off dry cell batteries, including alkaline (AAA, AA, C, D, 6 volt, 9 volt), button batteries and rechargeable batteries. Please note the following unacceptable batteries: Lithium, Lithium Ion, Lead Acid, Car Batteries, and greater than 9 volt (Alkaline, Carbon-Zinc, NiCad, NiMH). Residential collection only. All fans who donate will receive a raffle ticket to win a Kings autographed prize.
Additionally the Kings will honor the McDonald’s Player Of The Year, which is Anze Kopitar.
Game 3 will be televised on Prime Ticket with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Kings Live. The game will be broadcast on the radio on KEIB 1150 The Patriot followed by the popular call-in show Kings Talk. TV coverage will also feature a post-game show.
