Raytheon Teams with Los Angeles Kings, Boys & Girls Club to Promote Science of Hockey

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems engineers are teaming with LA Kings goalie Ben Scrivens and defenseman Alec Martinez to help 70 Boys and Girls Club middle school students understand the science behind hockey.  Kings alumni Jim Fox and Daryl Evans will be the masters of ceremony for the event, educating students on the fundamentals of math and science applied to hockey.  Kings mascot Bailey and other members of the Kings staff are expected to participate as well.

The activity is designed to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics to students with real-world active learning—inspiring the next generation to help ensure America’s competitiveness—as well as celebrate Raytheon’s $5,000 donation to the club for science and math education programs.

The event will feature:
·         2pm: Boys and Girls Club students arrive at club
·         2:30-3:30pm: Science of hockey experience with Kings players and crew and Raytheon volunteers
