Jersey Unveil – The Facts
The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series will showcase advancements in uniform manufacturing – including the new Kings jersey that was unveiled on Tuesday…53 days ahead of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ match-up between the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium -- that feature fresh new design applications while celebrating the sport and team brands with a modern flair.
The NHL Stadium Series jersey design elements are highlighted by a front chest Chrome Crest treatment that brings visual dimension to the team logos and is complemented by the use of alternate team colors throughout the uniform. Inspired by the silver tones found in the NHL Shield, the Chrome application represents a modern design approach to the execution of the storied participating team brands.
The NHL Stadium Series jerseys were designed with creative input by the NHL Member Clubs, Reebok and the NHL.
The following are design elements incorporated into the NHL Stadium Series jerseys:
Chrome Cresting: This new technology fuses print and embroidery manufacturing process, allowing the logo to be displayed as a high-resolution image incorporated into the crest. This technology also reduces the weight of the crest, promoting a lighter jersey for improved athlete performance.
Lace-up collar: The construction of the lace-up collar streamlines the cut and sew cosmetics of the collar for a seamless feel and better wear and performance, while still delivering the timeless style of the traditional hockey visual cue.
Lettering/Numbering: Player numbers on the back of the jersey are enlarged, making them more visible to fans in outdoor venues. Sleeve numbers are angled on five of the Stadium Series jerseys aligning player arm position with visual angles typical for fan viewing of the game in motion.
The Kings and Ducks will face off at the iconic stadium at 6:30 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Tickets are currently on sale via Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster.ca, the official ticket marketplace of the NHL.
