LooKING Back:

Oh I don't know.... maybe you heard that BEN SCRIVENS HAD HIS 2ND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT AND NOW LEADS THE NHL IN SHUTOUTS?!?

Ugh, get out of my face, Ben Bishop.

And if leading the NHL in shutouts wasn't enough... today the NHL made an announcement:

As Indiana Matt said.... we aren't sure if Ben Scrivens is allowing being named the 1st Star of the Week by the NHL to go to his head... but this was his jog Tuesday morning in Hermosa.

And please... if you haven't downloaded them already... get your Ben Scrivens Desktop Wallpaper here:

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE PAST GAME:

Lost in all the Ben Scrivens Mania™ was the fact that we should also be celebrating Toffoli-palooza™.

We also learned that the LA Kings are doing pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good after their first 21st games of the NHL season.

The LA Kings best record through 21 games since 1990-91? Well I guess you could that the new kids on the block for the LA Kings have a lot to do with that.

LA TOURISM BOARD:

The Tampa Bay Lightning are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night. Most importantly, since Steven Stamkos was injured, the Lightning are 2-1. But even without the player that has lead the league in goal scoring 2 of the past 4 years... I'm sure there are plenty of other exciting players on the Lightning to keep an eye on tonight, right? RIGHT?

Nope.

No way.

Pretty much this.

Sure, Vincent Lecavalier is long gone, pretty much leaving Marty St. Louis as the only reason to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning play hockey (okay... *maybe* Radko Gudas.) St. Louis is 38 years old and is currently tied for 20th in the league in scoring with 20 points... 1 more than LA Kings leader Anze Kopitar. And there is one simple reason for Marty St. Louis' success:

His giant 'effin legs.

As created by Jesse Cohen from All The Kings Men Podcast... The Moulson Index™ highlights an opposing player from tonights game who has the opportunity to score against his former employer, the LA Kings.

Tonight's Moulson Index Spotlight is:

TEDDY PURCELL, RIGHT WINGER

In 3 games versus the LA Kings in his career, Teddy Purcell has 1 GOAL and 2 ASSISTS

The goal was scored the last time the Kings and Lightning played.
