OILERS + FLAMES VS THE KINGS POINTS UPDATE:

It's a dead heat. Which is also what they call summers in Alberta.

LooKING Back:

Looks like we are going to need ourselves a nickname for the newest LA Kings line sensation...

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE PAST GAME:

Vey, Pearson and Toffoli might still be young students of the game... but Ben Scrivens will always be the professor.

If that second part is true... Ben Scrivens will start every game this season.

This is Mr. & Mrs. Scrivens' world... we're just renting space in it.

LA TOURISM BOARD:

It's been a long time since the LA Kings have faced off against the New Jersey Devils. In fact, I'm trying to remember what even happened after the last time the Kings played in Newark.

Oh, right. That thing.

It's been nearly a year and a half since the LA Kings were last in Newark, NJ... losing Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals to the NJ Devils. And a few things have changed.

So with Jon Quick out of the lineup for at least 4-6 weeks, Kings fans turn their faith in goaltending to...

These guys.

I agree with many LA Kings fans out there... Scrivens and Jones does not sound like a goaltending duo at all.

It sounds like a new LA bar from the hottest restauranteurs in town.

Scrivens and Jones also sounds like a new line of clothing at Target.

Or maybe Scrivens and Jones is the newest R&B sensations.

But most likely, instead of the goaltending duo that LA Kings fans will be cheering for over the next 4-6 weeks... Scrivens and Jones sounds like a new cop show on TNT.

"They weren't even supposed to be starting today..."

As of the publishing of this GAMEDAY PREVIEW... we are not sure if Martin Jones is starting against the Devils or not. But one thing is for sure...

"You must learn the ways of the Net, Martin."

As created by Jesse Cohen from All The Kings Men Podcast... The Moulson Index™ highlights an opposing player from tonights game who has the opportunity to score against his former employer, the LA Kings.

Tonight's Moulson Index Spotlight is:

ANDREI LOKTIONOV, CENTER

Andrei Loktionov has never played against the team that drafted him in the 2008 5th round.

PETER HARROLD, DEFENSEMAN?

Peter Harrold has never played against the team that signed up as an undrafted free agent.

THE ROYAL HALF GAMEDAY PREVIEW TWEET OF THE DAY

Last night on Long Island, Jon Quick did an amazing Kobe Bryant impression

when Islanders goalie Kevin Poulin flopped worse than The Lone Ranger...
