PHILADELPHIA FLYERS VS JEFF CARTER POINTS UPDATE:

LooKING Back:

Tuesday night in Buffalo, the Los Angeles Kings lost 3-2 in OT. But most importantly, the Kings lost theiBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP...

Miss you, boo.

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE PAST GAME:

With Jon Quick out of the LA Kings lineup indefinitely... LA Kings fans have a new hope.

Help us, Ben Kenobi Scrivens... you are our only hope.

LA TOURISM BOARD:

The New York Islanders are coming off such a lopsided 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators that even the Nashville Predators had to make fun of it...

...and then quickly delete any trace that they made fun of it.

In addition to their 1st win in 4 games, the NY Islanders also received some exciting news on Tuesday as the NHL Chrome Collection was unveiled. These are chrome-treated team logos specially designed for the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™. The Chrome logos designs are "unique to the NHL Stadium Series and inspired from the chrome details on the NHL shield, bringing a dynamic and modern perspective to conventional team identities." The Chrome Collection is really unlike any NHL design we've seen in nearly 20 or so years!

He's back! In Pog form.

You can see the final Chrome Collection designs that the NHL released here. But as a special service to our readers, The Royal Half was able to discover some of the rejected Chrome Collection designs from deep within the NHL office. For instance, NY Islanders fans everywhere are excited about their upcoming Stadium Series™ game against the rival NY Rangers. But what they don't know is how close the NHL was to using this classic Chrome'd out Islanders logo!

Of course our own LA Kings are involved in a Stadium Series™ game as well this season... and they too get their own totally awesome Chrome Collection logo for the game against the Anaheim Ducks! But if the NHL was really looking to go all out with their 1990s-era Chrome Collection... they should have gone with these early extreme Chrome'd out logos!

Of course, in addition to the Stadium Series™ Outdoor Games this season... there is the NHL Heritage Classic Outdoor Game™ involving the Vancouver Canucks and the Ottawa Senators. And trust me... when it comes to cutting-edge marketing like the NHL Chrome Collection... the NHL wouldn't forget about 1990s Canada!

No really... this could have been the Senators logo.

And although they don't have an opponent yet... the NHL is ready to Chrome out the home team for the 2015 NHL Winter Classic™... the Washington Capitals!

But what about those franchises that have yet to be considered for some sort of NHL Outdoor Game™? Don't worry... as I dug deeper into the NHL Chrome Collection prototypes... I realized the NHL has got your favorite team covered! Like for the 1st ever Florida Outdoor Game™...

Or for when the Wild and Stars match up against each other on the frozen lakes of Minnesota...

And since LA and Anaheim are playing outdoors this season... you have to think that fellow Pacific Division rivals Phoenix and San Jose won't be far behind!

Maybe to ride the wave of 1990s nostalgia that the NHL Chrome Collection is capitalizing on... the NHL would consider an Stadium Series™ game based solely on Director of Hockey Operations?

And if the NHL ever considers letting another Canadian team play in any of the bigger Outdoor Games™... you better believe that the graphic artists at the NHL have their photoshop filters ready to go!

The Winnipeg Jets can chose from two totally awesome Chrome Collection logos!

And finally... what would the hip and cool NHL Chrome Collection be without one of the hippest and coolest logos out there!

Go Perds!

One thing is for sure... NHL fans everywhere are caught up in NHL Chrome Collection Fever™!!!

As created by Jesse Cohen from All The Kings Men Podcast... The Moulson Index™ highlights an opposing player from tonights game who has the opportunity to score against his former employer, the LA Kings.

Tonight's Moulson Index Spotlight is:

THOMAS HICKEY, DEFENSEMAN
