Keaton Ellerby Agrees To Terms On One-Year Deal
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with defenseman Keaton Ellerby, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Ellerby, 24, appeared in 44 games for the Kings and Florida Panthers last season, recording three points (all assists) and 52 penalty minutes. All three assists came during his 35 games with the Kings and he had a plus-5 rating during his time in Los Angeles. Ellerby also appeared in five postseason games for the Kings.
The 6-5, 221-pound native of Strathmore, Alberta was acquired by the Kings from Florida for a fifth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft on Feb. 8, 2013.
Ellerby has played in 160 career NHL games with the Kings and Panthers, recording 20 points (2-18=20) and 86 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Panthers in the first round (10th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
