Yup, that's Tomas Sandstrom on the cover of NHL '94.

THE CALGARY FLAMES VS JEFF CARTER POINTS UPDATE:

Let's try and see the Calgary Flames score a goal off their chest.

ARE THE LA KINGS IN THE PLAYOFFS?

LA KINGS PLAYOFF SEED WATCH:
If the KINGS beat MINNESOTA in regulation...
and SAN JOSE loses to DALLAS in regulation...
and ST. LOUIS loses to COLORADO...
the KINGS clinch the 4th Seed.

Once again, the Los Angeles Kings... the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings may I remind you... have been dissed by a mainstream media outlet!

That's right, the NHL and EA Sports have announced the 60 finalists that are competing for the cover photo of its brand new ice hockey video game... and the Los Angeles Kings nominations are missing a very important candidate.

He's just as confused as I am.

And so is he.

Don't get me wrong... Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar are very worthy candidates to represent the Los Angeles Kings on the cover of an ice hockey video game. But Jeff Carter... I mean... Jeff Carter has 25 goals in 45 games this season... and has 39 goals in 81 games as a LA King. I mean that's pretty much a 40 goal scorer over a full NHL Season. Hey do you guys remember the last time the LA Kings had a 40 goal scorer on their roster?

44 goals in the 1993-94 season.
Well, I'm sure someone else has come close to scoring 40 goals since, right? RIGHT?!?

35 goals in 2006-07 by Alex Frolov is the closest a Kings player has got in the last 10 seasons.

So apparently scoring goals with every body part imaginable isn't good enough for EA Sports or the NHL, huh? Well fine... because I think that the NHL and EA Sports have really missed a chance to branch out to new fans across the globe. For instance, here is how the cover of NHL 14 could appeal to hockey fans...

Although, I wish you could put an animated GIF on the cover of a video game...

YESSSSSSS!!!

And here is how the cover of NHL 14 could appeal to women everywhere...

al

And here is how the cover of NHL 14 could appeal to hipsters everywhere...

And here is how the cover of NHL 14 could appeal to fans of The Notebook everywhere...

What say you, LA Kings fans? Are you going to stand idly by while Jeff Carter is robbed of an honor  that he has worked hard to be considered for... the cover photo of a ice hockey video game? Well, I'm sure if Jeff Carter wasn't able to garner a nomination, the rest of the potential candidates must be incredibly talented and deserving choices.

W.T.F.

Well, I can guarantee you that an animated GIF of Lee Stempniak on the front cover of NHL 14 would not lead to an increase in sales.

Let's organize and make a change in the world, LA Kings fans.

VOTE FOR CARTER

Hopefully, this will go better than the last election the LA Kings participated in...

Wow, KingsVision hasn't changed one bit, has it?
