LEE STEMPNIAK VS THE LA KINGS SCORING JEFF CARTER'S GOALS UPDATE:

Again with the 5 games in 8 days schedule for the Los Angeles Kings! Well, as you know, your creepy Uncle Royal Half has a day job and there are a couple of games coming up this week with the Stanley Cup-less San Jose Sharks that we need to mentally prepare for... so we are phoning it in again today. But let's be honest here... when it comes to writing about the Phoenix Coyotes... there is nothing funnier that I could come up with than this:

It's funny because it's never true.

The next 6 games are crucial for the Los Angeles Kings if they'd like to have any chance of winning their first Division title since 1990-91.

Those were the days.

It would be especially exciting for the LA Kings to win the Pacific Division this season because they could be the answer to an awesome trivia question in the future... who was the last team to win the Pacific Divsion ever? (I'm also hoping that the LA Kings are the answer to the future trivia question of what was the last NHL team to win back to back Stanley Cups?) Heading into tonight's game against the Phoenix Coyotes, the LA Kings are 9 points behind the division leading Anaheim Ducks with the same amount of games played. By playing 6 games against divisional opponents, the Kings have an amazing chance to distance themselves from the rest of the Pacific pack in the chase for the Ducks.

An artist's rendering of what the Pacific Division looks like right now.

So since we aren't one for mathematical mumbo-jumbo... we here at The Royal Half have created a handy-dandy graphic so that you can easy track the points that the Los Angeles Kings earn against divisional opponents over the next 6 games.

PRESENTING..... PAC TRAK!!!

We hope that you will find PAC TRAK an easy way to see if the LA Kings are taking advantage of 6 straight games against divisional opponents. And we hope that Fox Sports West will steal this for an on-air graphic... like they do to every graphic that is created on the web about the Los Angeles Kings' record.

The above is from the LA Kings Facebook account,
and is a graphic that they've been posting all season long...

... and this is from the Fox Sports West broadcast of Monday night's game.
Hmmm... where have I seen this graphic before?!?

Nailed it.
