Kings Recall Toffoli
20-year-old forward has tallied 28 goals for Manchester this season
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled center Tyler Toffoli from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Toffoli, 20, has played in 55 regular season games with the Monarchs this season and has recorded 48 points (28-20=48), 18 penalty minutes and a team-leading plus-20 rating. His 28 goals lead the Monarchs, all AHL rookie skaters, and that goal total also ranks second overall in the league. His 48 points are tied for first in the AHL among rookie skaters and rank second overall on his team. Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (47th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-1, 187-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, has not played in the NHL. He will wear No. 73.
The Kings (13-8-2, 28 points) are back at STAPLES Center hosting the Calgary Flames on Monday beginning at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West – including a pre-game show -- and KTLK AM 1150.
