LEE STEMPNIAK VS THE LA KINGS SCORING UPDATE:
A couple more games and this might turn into Andrew Ladd vs The LA Kings.
Everyone in Los Angeles is talking about the exciting race going on right now. Not the Los Angeles Kings race to the top of the Western Conference, silly! No, they are talking about the race for Mayor of Los Angeles!
The election for Los Angeles Mayor
is this Tuesday, March 5th... and we here at The Royal Half thought we'd provide a voting guide for all the wonderful LA Kings fans out there who are too busy watching their favorite hockey team win 5 games in a row (with a 7-2 record since Keaton Ellerby came to town
) to be concerned with local politics. It seems that Wendy Greuel and Eric Garcetti are the two front-runners so we'll take an in-depth look at their voting records and what it means to you... citizens of Los Angeles.
Wendy Greuel is Los Angeles City Controller and worked for 10 years in Former Mayor Tom Bradley's office. She went on to be a senior advisor at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. In 2002 she was elected to Los Angeles City Council and became known as the “Pothole Queen”... making it her mission to fill every pothole in her council district. But when you take a deeper look into Wendy Greuel's past... there is an alarming hole that she has never filled...
That's right... when you Google Wendy Greuel and hockey... nothing comes up.
Do we really want to vote for a Mayor that has zero connection to hockey? In fact, after some thorough research, including a tip from an anonymous source... this is the closest I could place Controller Wendy Greuel with the sport of hockey:
In a poll entitled "Who Should Be LA's Next Mayor"
next to a article about USC's women's hockey team.
Eric Garcetti is the Councilman for Los Angeles' 13th District and is the son of former Los Angeles County District Attorney, Gil Garcetti. But where does he stack up on the real issues? I took an hard look at his Twitter account to find the real answers.
When you are voting for a Mayor... you really are voting for his staff as well... and with Eric Garcetti... it looks like we are in good hands
The GWU hockey team has the most amazing set of team-branded boating shoes.
Let's be honest here... I have absolutely no idea which candidate you should vote for. But if a Mayoral election is truly about finding the one person who can lead the great city of Los Angeles to success over the next 4 years... then I think I know the perfect guy for the job.
It just makes sense.
Well... technically he could lead Los Angeles until 2022
Who knows... with the recent popularity of Argo
... in 4 years maybe it will b time for another Carter in the White House.
