Kings Announce Roster Moves
Martinez Placed on I-R; Campbell Recalled
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenseman Andrew Campbell from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed defenseman Alec Martinez on the injured reserve list (retroactive to February 11), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Campbell, 25, has played in 28 games for the Monarchs this season and has recorded eight points (1-7=8), 26 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating (leads Monarchs defensemen). Originally selected by the Kings in the third-round (74th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-3, 207-pound native of Caledonia, Ontario, has not played in the NHL though he was recalled by the Kings earlier this month. He will wear No. 81.
Martinez has been placed on the injured reserve list due to an upper body injury. Through 11 games, Martinez has two points (1-1=2) and four penalty minutes.
The Kings are back at the STAPLES Center hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West – including a pre-game show -- and KTLK AM 1150.
