Try Hockey For Free Day to Take Place Saturday at Nearly 500 Locations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Try Hockey For Free Day is set to take place Saturday (Nov. 3) as part of the second annual Come Play Hockey Month. Nearly 500 rinks across the country will encourage boys and girls, ages 4 to 9, to come to a local participating rink and try youth hockey free of charge.
"Try Hockey For Free is the cornerstone of Come Play Hockey Month as we introduce the sport to thousands of children," said Pat Kelleher, assistant executive director of development for USA Hockey. "The initiative provides an opportunity to become active in hockey and hopefully spark a passion for the game."
Free equipment will be provided for children attending Try Hockey For Free Day and no experience is required to participate. For those interested in registering for the event, full details and local participating ice rinks can be found at TryHockeyForFree.com.
NOTES: Try Hockey For Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. The program, designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joint effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, and NHL member clubs. With Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports, the official sponsors of Try Hockey For Free Day, USA Hockey has nearly 500 locations offering boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 9 years old this unique opportunity.
