Reign Acquire Sheen for Montgomery’s Rights
Rookie forward to play at home this weekend

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, have announced the acquisition of forward Everett Sheen for the rights of Reign defenseman Mike Montgomery, who is currently still playing in the AHL with the Houston Aeros.
Sheen, 6-foot, 205 pounds, joins the Reign from the ECHL’s Reading Royals. In 33 games, the left winger recorded nine points (5g, 4a) with a plus/minus rating of -1. In December of this season, Sheen made his first of two appearances with the Royals’ AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, playing a total of four games.
Prior to turning pro, the 25-year-old, Lethbridge, Alberta native spent four years playing for Holy Cross College in the AHA. In 149 games Sheen recorded a total of 104 points (52g, 52a) and 82 penalty minutes. During his college career, the forward was named co-captain of the Crusaders in the 2009-10 season, and captain for the 2010-11 season.
In his senior year (2010-11), Sheen set the school record for most games played with 149, he led the team in goals-scored with 17, and was selected by the team as their Most Valuable Player. Sheen was selected as the AHA Player of the Week, for the second time with the Crusaders, for the week of October 10 2010, and was named AT&T Crusader of the Week on March 13, 2011. Sheen was selected to play on the AHA All-Academic team his freshman, sophomore, and senior year.
As a junior, Sheen played in the AJHL from 2003-2007 between Crowsnest Pass, Canmore, Drumheller and Okotoks. In 236 games, the forward earned 147 points (70g, 77a) and 287 penalty minutes.
