Houston Taps Ontario for Stretch and Montgomery
Reign players make their second appearance with the Aeros

ONTARIO, Calif.-The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, have announced that they have loaned forward C.J. Stretch and defenseman Mike Montgomery to the Houston Aeros of the AHLfor the second time this season.
Stretch, 22, made his first appearance in Houston last month when the club called him up Jan. 20 for three games. The center recorded one point, an assist, with the Aeros before returning to Ontario on Jan. 26.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound, Irvine, California native leads the Reign in points with 44 (19g, 25a) in 40 games; more than double what he earned with the team last season for a professional career high. Stretch recorded 21 points (9g, 12a) with the Reign in the 2010-11 season.
Montgomery, 25, returns to the Aeros for his second appearance with the club and third AHL appearance of the season. The defenseman played four games with Houston between Dec. 9 and Jan. 10 receiving one point for an assist. Earlier this season, Montgomery signed a professional tryout contract with the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound, blueliner from Lino Lakes, Minnesota has recorded two points (1g, 1a) with the Reign this season, scoring his first professional goal Jan. 21 at home. Prior to turning pro, Montgomery played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth for four seasons, 2007-11. Skating in 132 games, he recorded 38 points (4g, 34a).
