KINGS HEAD COACH DARRYL SUTTER:
(Re goaltenders): “You have two of the top, arguably four, five or six goaltenders in the League tonight. We had three empty nets in overtime and when you have those types of guys in net it’s about the second or third bear down opportunities and we had the opportunities.”

(Re game recap): “It was two pretty even teams…I thought it was a hard-fought game. I thought we had a really good first period—it’s just something we’ve been working at. Pretty even teams.

KINGS FORWARD DUSTIN PENNER:
(Re game recap): “I think we had a pretty good start.  Towards the second half of the game we put a lot of pucks in bad spots and didn’t get it back on the fore-check.  We have to work harder on those areas.”

(Re cycle): “We’re getting good support by the first two fore-checkers, on the puck and getting stops down there and getting in good position.  Its one of those games where we needed to bury one of our chances.”

KINGS FORWARD DUSTIN BROWN:
(Re traffic and shots on goal): “He [Miikka Kiprusoff] was good.  I don’t know if we got enough bodies around the net.  I don’t know if we had as many chances but we had some really good quality chances that he made some big saves on.  I had an empty net in overtime and just missed it. It’s one of those games.”

(Re lack of power play chances): “I thought we worked hard.  I’m not going to comment on the refs.  They’re out there doing their job and they call what they see.”

CALGARY HEAD COACH BRENT SUTTER:
(Re game recap): “Our effort was really good in San Jose and it was good here tonight. We certainly needed to come here with the mindset and carry on the way we played in San Jose and not drop that at all and make sure the bar is where it needs to be. The effort was there. We played hard…They’re going to get opportunities but [Kiprusoff] stood tall. We were able to find and a way and that’s what you need to do. We played well, we did a lot of good things again and again it was a game where you had to get into the trenches and compete. Both teams did that here tonight. Again, it was a heck of a game.”

CALGARY FORWARD JAROME IGINLA:
(Re game recap): “It was a gritty game. They played well defensively, especially after the first period. We only had a few shots. We just stayed with it. I thought in the middle of the first they just started getting some momentum there and I thought we did a good job of staying with it and not getting flustered and not letting them get more than one. They had a very good first and we only came out of that down one I thought was boost, we kind of got back in it from there.”

(Re his goal): “It was a power play. They broke their stick and at that point I thought Olli [Jokinen] and [Cammalleri] did a  nice job of settling it down and we were just kind of looking to work the guy without a stick on that side. It happened to be me, I got it a couple of times…I’m just trying to shoot it hard in an area and fortunately it went in.”
