Kings Care Foundation Announces Two Upcoming Events
Red And White All-Star Wine Tasting Hosted By Jim Fox on Jan. 29
Taste Of The South Bay, Presented By Hush Hush and the LA Kings, Feb. 19
The Red and White All-Star Wine Tasting Hosted by Jim Fox will be on Sunday, Jan. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Mixing Room at the JW Marriott L.A. Live (900 W. Olympic Blvd, across the street from STAPLES Center). Fox, who is in his 22nd season as the Kings’ television color commentator, will be teaching the basics on wine and talking hockey during the NHL All-Star Game, which will be played on television screens in The Mixing Room.
Activities will include:
• A general presentation on how to appreciate and enjoy wine
• Helping to design your own All-Star themed wine label along with members of the LA Kings Alumni Association Presented By Toyota
• A blind wine tasting exercise where you’ll be asked to identify three whites and three red wines.
Confirmed guests include: Daryl Evans, Ian Turnbull, Pete Demers, Bob Miller, Wandamae Lombardi (wife of Kings President/General Manger Dean Lombardi), as well as Rich Hammond (www.lakingsinsider.com). The fourth annual Taste of the South Bay, presented by Hush Hush and the LA Kings, will be on Sunday, Feb. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach (1221 N. Valley Drive). Current Kings players, as well as other celebrity guests will be on hand as the best restaurants in the South Bay sample their food and drinks.
Confirmed restaurants include: Darren’s, Paul Martin’s American Bistro, La Sirena Bar and Grill, Tin Roof Bistro, Cupcake Couture, Rok Sushi, Hot’s Kitchen and many more. The Kings Care Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and recreational opportunities for youth throughout Greater Los Angeles. Since its inception in 1996 the Kings Care Foundation has donated more than $5 million in monetary and in-kind support to the local community.
