Star Gazing: Celebrity Spotlight
Hockey is entertainment, and with the LA Kings situated in the Entertainment Capital of the World, the two often go hand-in-hand. Star Gazing is a new feature on LAKings.com. It casts a spotlight on some of the celebrities who have come to STAPLES Center this year for Kings games. Kate Walsh The star of ABC’s Private Practice, Kate Walsh attended the Kings-Ducks game on December 22. You also may recognize her from her longtime role on Grey’s Anatomy. Seated on the glass in front of our defend-twice goal, she got to see the thrilling shoot out victory up close and personal that night. Chris O’Donnell Chicago native Chris O’Donnell attended the Kings-Blackhawks game on Saturday, November 26. Currently starring on NCIS: Los Angeles, he is also well known for film roles in Scent of a Woman, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin and many more. Chris also attended Boston College a few years before Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi. Kristen Bell Kristen Bell attended the Kings-Red Wings game on November 19. As a hockey fan born and raised in the Detroit area, this was not the first game Kristen has attended at STAPLES Center. And adding to her hockey cred, she once broke both of her wrists playing the sport. Known for being the star of television’s Veronica Mars and Heroes, she has also starred in movies that include Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Scream 4. Garret Gomez A successful jockey in the world of competitive horse racing, former Breeders’ Cup winner Garret Gomez took in a Kings game with his family in November. The winner of more than 3,000 career races, the native of Arizona won the famed Breeders’ Cup in 2010 handing champion mare Zenyatta her first loss in the process. Skylar Grey In early November, singer/song-writer Skylar Grey was in the crowd at STAPLES Center for the Kings-Penguins game. She is well-known for his music and her contributions to the Dre. Dre song “I Need A Doctor” which also features Eminem, and she has worked with the likes of Fort Minor, Diddy-Dirty Money and Lupe Fiasco.
