Off the Post: Kings Players Talk Turkey

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for, and it also marks the official “starting line” for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

If a four-day weekend and Black Friday aren’t enough to get you excited about one of America’s biggest and most celebrated holidays, then the three Fs – family, food and football – should certainly do the trick.

Every household has a different Turkey Day routine, and everyone has their own favorite part. The Kings will have the luxury of being home over Thanksgiving weekend, so what about that will they enjoy the most? Be thankful – here are the answers!

The Shot: What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
The Pass: Which of your teammates would cook the best Thanksgiving dinner?

Jonathan Quick
Shot: Eating food and watching football.
Pass: I don’t know if anybody in here can cook!

Jack Johnson
Shot: Eating!
Pass: Which of them WOULD? That’s kind of a pick-your-poison – let’s go with Willie Mitchell – he might know what he’s doing!

Jarret Stoll
Shot: Perogies and cabbage rolls. I’m Ukrainian and for any Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner we have perogies and cabbage rolls, it’s kind of a Ukrainian dish, so I love having that.
Pass: Nobody – everyone is pretty much a baby on this team, they have everything done for them!

Rob Scuderi
Shot: Eating turkey!
Pass: Justin Williams

Brad Richardson
Shot: I just like eating and hanging out with friends and family.
Pass: Ethan Moreau – he said he likes to cook.

Dustin Penner
Shot: The turkey dinner – the good stuff, mashed potatoes and all that!
Pass: Me because I’d have my wife help me!

Jonathan Bernier
Shot: A great meal!
Pass: Ethan Moreau

Matt Greene
Shot: Turkey!
Pass: Turkey!!!

Drew Doughty
Shot: The dinner!
Pass: Jonathan Quick

Colin Fraser
Shot: Turkey dinner, that’s it – number one, the best meal around.
Pass: Ethan Moreau

Willie Mitchell
Shot: I’m Canadian and I really respect how important Thanksgiving is for Americans. My favorite thing about it is my wife’s patriotism with Thanksgiving – she makes a big meal all the time and her family gets together and I really respect that.
Pass: My wife and I would probably cook the best meal.  My wife is an excellent chef, but putting the best gathering together and organizing would definitely be Jonathan Quick.

Kevin Westgarth
Shot: Overeating and napping on the couch!
Pass: I’ve actually had the pleasure of having Jonathan Quick prepare us a full Thanksgiving dinner, so Quickie is number one by far!

Mike Richards
Shot: Turkey with the family. Having the whole family over together and thankful that you have a family to share it with and blessed to have the food, too.
Pass: I’m not sure, I haven’t had anyone’s home-cooking yet since I’ve been here!
