Tomorrow (Friday) during the Kings-NY Rangers game from Stockholm, Sweden fans from both teams are invited to participate in a Twitter “Hashtag Battle.” The “battle” begins at the drop of the puck (game slated to begin at 10 a.m. PT) and concludes when the game officially ends.
During the “Hashtag Battle,” fans are encouraged to tweet using the hashtag #GoLAKings or #GoNYRangers. Anyone who competes in the Hashtag Battle using #GoLAKings will automatically be entered into a drawing for airline vouchers courtesy of Delta Airlines, the official airline and private jet carrier of the LA Kings. Four lucky winners will receive one round-trip travel voucher to anywhere in the continental United States and Canada where Delta flies.
At the conclusion of the Kings-Rangers game a winning team will be determined (the team that receives more tweets using their hashtag will be the winner).
For every 5,000 tweets using #GoLAKings the Kings Care Foundation will donate $1,000 to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

ABOUT HASHTAGS: A hashtag is used to categorize posts on Twitter according to topics. To add a hashtag to a tweet, you just preface your post (tweet) with the hash symbol (#). That will allow people who follow that topic to find your tweet and perhaps follow you as well. An example of a hashtag would be a tweet that reads “#GoLAKings Win The Hashtag Battle” or “#GoLAKings Great goal by Kopitar.”
The Kings open the regular season tomorrow (Friday) in Stockholm against the New York Rangers and will play Buffalo Saturday in Berlin. Friday’s game begins at 10 a.m. (PT) and will be televised on Versus. Saturday’s game starts at 11 a.m. (PT) and will be televised on FS West. Both games can be heard on AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network.
