In October, 10 of the club’s 11 games will all air live on FS West. The Kings regular season opener in Stockholm, Sweden, on Oct. 7 against the New York Rangers will air on VERSUS (the NHL released the National TV Schedule earlier this month). In November, 12 of the club’s 13 games will air on FS West. The Kings-St. Louis game on Nov. 22 will be broadcast on VERSUS.
In December, all 15 Kings games will air on FS West. In January, all 11 Kings games will air on FS West.
In February, 11 of the Kings’ 14 games will air on FS West. The other three games will be broadcast as follows: Feb. 7 at Tampa (VERSUS), Feb. 22 at Colorado (VERSUS) and Feb. 28 at Minnesota (VERSUS). In fact, all 59 games from October-February as part of today’s announcement will air on FS West as will the first two broadcasts in March.
In March, 13 of the Kings’ 15 games will air on FS West or Prime Ticket. The two games on Prime Ticket are: March 8 at Columbus and March 16 at Anaheim. Also, as it relates to March, the Kings-Chicago game on March 11 will be broadcast on VERSUS or NBC.
All three regular season Kings games in April will air on FS West. In fact, the final 13 games in the regular season will be featured on FS West (12 games) or Prime Ticket (one game).
Kings television play-by-play announcer Bob Miller and color commentator Jim Fox return to broadcast Kings games this season. Miller returns for his 39th season as the television “Voice of the Kings” and Fox, the former Kings forward, is entering his 22nd season as the club’s television color commentator.
Steven Dorfman will begin his third season on Kings telecasts, serving as the producer, and Mike Hassan will again direct the telecasts, a position he has held since 1995. FS WEST reporter Patrick O’Neal is set to begin his seventh season.
“Kings Live” also airs from Star Plaza (outside STAPLES Center) immediately following all primetime home telecasts on FS West, with O’Neal, the host, sitting alongside Fox to offer viewers post-game recaps and analysis. Connected, original, fast-paced and fun, the half-hour program airs live bringing fans closer to the team with player and coach interviews. In addition, the Ultra-mo camera system returns to select Kings telecasts this season on FS WEST. Combined with low and wide camera angles, the Ultra-mo allows analysts to explain crucial plays and lets the fans relive unbelievable moments. The super slow motion replay adds to the storytelling of the game.
Three Kings focused original programs will debut on FS West to start the season including the “Making of the LA Kings Ice Crew Calendar” show scheduled to air prior to and immediately following FS West’s coverage of the first Kings home game on October 18. Additionally, “Kings Live: Preseason Special,” a feature driven “Kings Insider” will debut before the 2011 season begins. Both air dates and times to be announced.
In addition, for the third consecutive season, all Kings games will be broadcast in High Definition (HD).
