LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings today released their 82-game radio schedule for the 2011-12 regular season, and the Kings and Clear Channel have reached agreement on a new two-year contract extension, it was announced by Kings Vice President, Communications and Content Michael Altieri.  All Kings games are scheduled to be broadcast on AM 1150, the club’s flagship radio station.

Kings radio play-by-play announcer Nick Nickson is entering his 31st season with the organization and his 22nd consecutive season as the radio “Voice of the Kings.”  He again teams with radio commentator and former Kings forward Daryl Evans, who is set for his 13th season as Nickson’s partner on KTLK AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network.

The Kings Radio Network for the 2011-12 season is as follows: KTLK 1150 AM Southern California/Flagship; KVTA 1520 AM Ventura, CA; KHTS 1220 AM Santa Clarita, CA; KMET 1490 AM Banning, CA; KLOA 1240 AM Ridgecrest, CA; KOSS 1380 AM Palmdale, CA; and KPTR 1450 AM, Palm Springs.

Evans and Nickson begin each broadcast with a 30-minute pre-game show.  In addition, on KTLK AM 1150 they will continue their co-hosting roles on the popular “Kings Talk.”  Heard after every home game as well as all road games in Anaheim, “Kings Talk” allows hockey fans an opportunity to call Evans and Nickson with their questions and comments and have them answered on the air.

The Kings will also broadcast the following preseason games on KTLK:

• Wed., Sept. 21 vs. Coyotes at 7:30 p.m.
• Sun., Sept. 25 vs. Ducks at 6:30 p.m.
• Tue., Sept. 27 vs. Penguins at 5 p.m.
• Wed., Sept. 28 vs. Avalanche at 6 p.m.
• Fri., Sept. 30 vs. Ducks at 7 p.m.
• Sat., Oct. 1 vs. Avalanche at 6 p.m.

The Kings’ regular season opener will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, on October 7 against the New York Rangers.  The Kings’ North American opener is October 13 at New Jersey while the club’s home opener at STAPLES Center is October 18 versus St. Louis.

The new radio agreement keeps the Kings on AM 1150 through the 2013-14 season.
