@LA Kings Launch #BloodAndPucks Campaign on Twitter

Blood And Pucks Twitter Campaign, Blood Drive Tuesday (All Benefiting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles)

WHEN:
Twitter Campaign runs April 2 through April 9. Blood Drive Monday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Los Angeles Kings have launched the “Blood and Pucks” campaign, which will serve as a primary fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Blood Drive program. From Saturday, April 2 through Saturday, April 9 the Kings Care Foundation will donate $1 to CHLA’s Blood Drive program for every new follower on the Kings official Twitter page.

The Kings and CHLA will also host a blood drive Monday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The blood drive will take place at CHLA, which is located at 4650 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. 90027.  Any Kings fan who donates blood will receive a voucher for two tickets to a 2011-12 regular season home game. Kings mascot Bailey and members of the Kings Ice Crew will be in attendance.

In August 2009, the Kings Care Foundation proudly announced a $500,000 commitment to the Blood Donor Center at CHLA. The largest donation ever made by the Foundation serves to increase the much needed collection of life-saving blood for the most seriously ill and injured children at Children’s Hospital through the LA Kings Bloodmobile.

Below is a list of other successful Twitter campaigns the Kings have launched this season:

50K Strong: A sweepstakes powered by fans as the Kings climbed and crossed the 50K mark on Facebook.  The Kings picked one fan to win and he received a team-signed jersey, tickets and a meet-and-greet with Luc Robitaille.

Facebook Playoff Presale: The Kings gave fans of their social media outlets (Facebook and Twitter) the ability to purchase tickets one day before tickets went on sale to the general public just for “liking” the team’s Facebook page or following the team on Twitter.

#AskLuc: During the Kings/Ducks game on Feb. 23, Robitaille took questions from fans under the @LAKings twitter handle, which resulted in hundreds of questions and fans being allowed the chance to digitally connect with Robitaille.

Hashtag Battle vs. Ducks: The Kings faced off against Anaheim in a Hashtag Battle for the game on Dec. 26. The results: 33,300 tags of #GoKings and 6,700 of #GoDucks. #GoKings trended No. 4 worldwide.

Hashtag Battle vs. Avalanche:
Kings vs. Avalanche game on Oct. 23, Kings reached No.1 worldwide trending topic on a night where there were several other nationally-televised events and raised money for CHLA.
