Kings Recall Oscar Moller from Manchester (AHL)
Kings host Minnesota at STAPLES Center tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
Moller, 21, has recorded 17 points (6-11=17), 10 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in 19 games with the Monarchs this season, while serving as a club alternate captain. His 17 points are third on Manchester and his 11 assists are tied for third on the club.
The 5-10, 189-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden split last season with the Kings and Monarchs. In 34 games with the Kings he had seven points (4-3=7) and four penalty minutes. In 43 games with Manchester he recorded 33 points (15-18=33) and 20 penalty minutes. Moller also had seven points (2-5=7) in 16 playoff games with Manchester, helping the Monarchs reach the AHL’s Eastern Conference Finals.
Moller has appeared in 74 career NHL games (all with the Kings) and has 22 points (11-11=22) and 20 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Kings in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear No. 9.
The Kings (16-10-0 and winners of three straight games) conclude their four-game homestand tomorrow, Saturday, against Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on FS West. The Kings will then embark on a five-game road trip, which starts Monday in Detroit. Monday’s game, which starts at 4:30 p.m. (PT), will be televised nationally on Versus.
