Kings Recall Dwight King from Manchester
Alexei Ponikarvosky placed on IR; Kings host Columbus tomorrow night at STAPLES Center

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Dwight King from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed forward Alexei Ponikarovsky on the injured reserve list (retroactive to November 7), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
King, 21, has not played in the NHL. In 16 games with the Monarchs this season, he ranks second on the Monarchs with 11 points, second in goals with six and tied for second in power play goals with two.
The 6-3, 227 pound King is a native of Meadowlake, Saskatchewan. He was selected by the Kings in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear No. 74.
Ponikarovsky, 30, suffered an upper-body injury on November 6 at STAPLES Center during the Kings’ victory against Nashville. In 13 games this season, Ponikarovsky has four points (2-2=4) and 10 penalty minutes.
The Kings return to STAPLES Center tomorrow night where they have won all eight games this season to set a franchise record for the start of a season. The Kings-Columbus Blue Jackets game begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network.
