LOS ANGELES – All players on the Los Angeles Kings have purchased tickets for every remaining home game during the 2009-10 season and have donated them to the Kings Community Corner, presented by Steiner Brothers Construction, the team announced today. The Kings Care Foundation will then distribute the tickets to selected local non-profit groups, kids and families. Approximately 500 tickets will be purchased by the Kings team for each game.

"The LA Kings’ commitment to the community is exceedingly evident through their generous Community Ticket program,” Irene De Anda Lewis, Executive Director of the Salvation Army – Los Angeles Red Shield Youth and Community Center said. “The families of the Pico-Union neighborhood have so enjoyed the experience of attending an exciting game of Kings hockey at STAPLES Center allowing them the opportunity to spend quality time with each other. Thank you for bringing our families together. You are making a difference."

“It’s great that our entire team is participating and I would like to thank Steiner Brothers Construction for sponsoring this initiative,” Kings President of Business Operations Luc Robitaille said. “We’re happy to be involved with the Kings Community Corner because it will allow kids and families to come watch a game at STAPLES Center, many for the first time. Last year we had three players purchase tickets, so to have the support of the whole team this time certainly makes this program grow and I’m happy to see that.”

Last season a couple of Kings players, including Anze Kopitar and Sean O’Donnell purchased tickets for the Kings Community Corner.
