The Kings will NOT try and keep the Pens from setting a road wins record to start the season, as research has shown they are still three wins shy of the mark.

The Penguins lost a record they were tied for on Tuesday, without even playing a game on Wednesday.

With the Penguins 4-3 win on Nov. 4 over the Anaheim Ducks, the Penguins matched the 1940 Toronto Maple Leafs, the 1985 Philadelphia Flyers and the 2005 Detroit Red Wings by starting the season with seven wins in a row on the road. New Jersey also is 7-0 on the road this season -- including a victory at Pittsburgh.

However, during the team's off day on Wednesday when the team practiced at STAPLES Center, National Hockey League researchers decided that both Pittsburgh and New Jersey are no longer tied for the record as the Buffalo Sabres posted a 10-game streak at the start of their 2006-07 campaign.

The Kings will host the Penguins tonight, attempting to stop the streak at seven games. New Jersey next plays on the road on Saturday in Ottawa.

"The road has been good to us," said Pittsburgh defenseman Alex Goligoski.

With the Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils each having won their first seven road games in 2009-10, following is the corrected and updated record:
