Kings to Host Food Drive

The Kings will be hosting their annual Food Drive begining on Thursday, Nov. 5 as part of the Kings-Pittsburgh Penguins game at 7:30 p.m. at STAPLES Center. The Kings will also be collecting food at home games on Saturday, Nov. 7 vs. the Nasvhille Predators, Wednesday, Nov. 18 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers and Satutrday, Nov. 21 vs. the Calgary Flames. The Kings will be accepting non-perishable food items outside all entrances of STAPLES Center at the above home games. All proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank and the Salvation Army. Fans who participate will be entered to win a "Kings Prize Pack" which includes tickets to an upcoming game and Kings memorabilia.
The Los Angeles Regional Foodbank is a private, nonprofit, charitable organization that has been serving the disadvantaged community for over 30 years. The food bank has grown in size, service and scope. Today it provides food for more than 1,000 member agency sites including abused and abandoned children homes, battered women shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, soup kitchens, AIDS hospices and more.
The Salvation Army is a 129-year old, faith-based charity that helps people with all kinds of social needs in virtually every community across America. Last year, nearly 30 million Americans received assistance from the Army's 3,600 officers, 63,000 employees, and 3.4 million volunteers.
