LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Scott Parse from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Parse, who will be practicing with the team Friday, will wear jersey No. 63.

Parse, 25, has recorded a team-high 11 points and nine assists (2-9=11) and six penalty minutes in seven games with Manchester this season. His 11 points is second in the AHL, while his nine assists are tied for first in the league. Parse also has a plus-8 rating, tied with teammate Andrei Loktionov for the AHL lead.

The 5-11, 197-pound native of Portage, Mich. appeared in 74 games with the Monarchs last season, recording 39 points (15-24=39) and 38 penalty minutes. His 39 points was fifth on the club, while his 15 goals were tied for fourth. He had a plus-6 rating, which was second on the team.

Parse began his pro career late in the 2006-07 season with Grand Rapids of the AHL after completing his senior year at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He spent the 2007-08 season, splitting time with Manchester and Reading of the ECHL. Parse was selected by the Kings in the sixth round (174th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
