Kings Introduce Hockeywood, L.A.
LOS ANGELES – Hockeywood, L.A. -- the Kings’ new on-line social network – launched today on LAKings.com, the club’s official website. Bob Miller, the Kings’ long-time television announcer and a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, made the first “ceremonial” post.

Hockeywood, L.A. is the on-line social network community for Kings fans where they can upload their favorite videos, photos and blogs while interacting with other Kings fans on LAKings.com’s new-and-improved message board, which is also part of Hockeywood, L.A.

As part of today’s launch, several featured content providers are already actively contributing to Hockeywood L.A., which features user-generated content from several long-time Southern California-based bloggers, podcasters and an array of video content as produced by hockey fans. In addition, Hockeywood, L.A. will feature The Deep Purple Podcast in which Mike Kalinowski provides interviews with Kings players, coaches, executives, broadcasters and alumni

Additionally, Kings Ice Crew Captain, Debbie, will also be providing an inside look at the behind-the-scenes aspects of Kings Game Entertainment, as well as highlights from various community appearances, events and interactions with fans in her featured Captain’s Blog.

All fans are encouraged to contribute as well by participating in this new open forum.

To view and to participate in Hockeywood, L.A., visit LAKings.com/hockeywoodla and hockeywoodla.com. You can also follow Hockeywood, L.A. on Twitter at Twitter.com/hockeywoodla for updates to the community.

Hockeywood, L.A. is the Kings’ and LAKings.com’s latest on-line platform for engagement with their fans as the club continues to use current technology as new media continues to evolve. It is also an extension of a website that recently hired Los Angeles Daily News hockey writer Rich Hammond to serve as the Beat Writer/Columnist for LAKings.com, plus it is the latest announcement regarding technology following the club’s release of their 2009-10 Twitter Plan.

The Kings continue to utilize other on-line outlets such as Facebook, My Space and Linkedin, and just three years ago the Kings took their first significant step by creating Kings Vision, the now-popular video portal that features segments hosted by Heidi Androl.
