ASK A KING: LUC ROBITAILLE
Let's retrace Luc Robitaille's season thus far. The NHL returns from the lockout (good). The Kings run out to a 15-6-1 record to start the season, one of the best starts in franchise history (very good). A fractured leg lands him on the IR for three weeks in November (ouch). Upon returning from the injured reserve list, Robitaille goes 25 games with only three goals, including goal-less streaks of four, five and 14 games (bad).

Robitaille snaps his drought with a hat trick against Atlanta, passing Kings great Marcel Dionne for the franchise record for goals scored (yee-hah).

And there is still over a quarter of the season left.

It has been a whirlwind season for the King of Kings. As the highest scoring forward in league history, Robitaille has pretty much seen and/or it all in his 19-year NHL career. Having just celebrated his 40th birthday on Feb. 19, Robitaille has played for four different teams, been to two Stanley Cup Finals and lifted the Cup once. His former teammates read like a roll call of present and future Hall of Famers: Gretzky, Dionne, Jagr, Messier, Leetch, Shanahan, Brett Hull, Francis, Chelios, Coffey, Yzerman, Blake and Kurri.

And through it all, the player Kings fans affectionately know as Cool Hand Luc has played the game with nothing but class and dignity.
