ASK-A-KING WITH ALEXANDER FROLOV
Selected by the Kings in the first round, with their first pick (20th overall) at the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the now 23-year old Alexander Frolov has taken Los Angeles by storm since joining the Kings in 2002. In his first season in the NHL, the speedy-Russian finished in the top-six rookies in the league with goals, game-winning goals, shots, and plus/minus. He also finished sixth overall in scoring for the Kings and was awarded the Mark Bavis Memorial Award by the local media as the "Best Newcomer/Rookie."

In order to follow that up, all Frolov did was score more goals than any other King (24) and finish just behind team-leader Luc Robitaille in overall scoring, with 48 points. That was before his 22nd birthday.

This season, Alexander signed a five year deal with the Kings, marking his return to the NHL after spending the lockout season in Russia with CSKA and Dynamo Moscow. In 52 NHL games thus far, Frolov has already set career highs in assists (28) and is on pace to surpass both his previous goal and point production totals.

His hard work hasn't only been appreciated by Kings fans. Alexander will be making his Olympic debut at the games this February. The 6-2, 210-pound native of Moscow, Russia, has previously represented Russia at the 2004 World Cup; the 2003 World Championships (co-led the team in points with five); and the 2002 World Juniors (gold medal; led the team in goals with six and co-led the team in points with eight).
