It's so much fun playing on a line with Alexander Frolov and Craig Conroy.
I played with Craig in St. Louis a while back. He's such a great defensive player and he allows both Alexander and I to concentrate mostly on offense.
Alexander has so much talent. He's one of the strongest guys in the NHL. It's so hard to take the puck from him.
We're three guys from three different countries, but we're all good friends and everybody brings something to the table for our line.
Although I like to score goals, I see myself more as a playmaker on the line. In St. Louis, my role was to set up guys for goals, and that's my role now with the Kings. I really enjoy setting up my teammates. Even if there is an empty net in front of me, I'll look to pass the puck first. That's just something I like to do.
Being close friends with Craig and Alexander has helped us get off to a great start. I think you have to know and understand each other well to be successful. Off the ice, we hang out together. We go to dinner together. When we're on the road, we stick with each other. I think all of that is important.
We've been really good lately, especially against the Columbus Blue Jackets last weekend (November 13) when Alexander recorded a hat trick and Craig and I had four points in the first period. A game like that happens once a year, but it was sure fun to experience. Everything was going our way and everything was clicking. That was like a perfect 20 minutes for our line.
I think the Kings brought me here to score. They know what I can do, and they also know what Craig and Alexander are capable of. I hope our line stays together all season because we've shown that we can be very good.
It's always fun to score big goals and to help our team win. I'm so happy with the way things have been going so far. It's great to be on a team that's winning almost every night.
