In Michael’s honor, the Jund family, the Kings and the Kings Care Foundation are pleased to announce that Ashley Hanley (Lakers) is the recipient of the ninth annual MICHAEL JUND SPORTS MEDIA SCHOLARSHIP AWARD.
Designed to reward hard-working college students who shared Michael’s dream of working in the communications side of the sports industry, Ashley will be honored Saturday during the first period of the Kings-Chicago game at STAPLES Center.
She will receive a $2,500 scholarship toward her education.
Hanley, 20, attends USC and is a Communications major.
A four-person panel selected the 2008 winner. The following area sports teams, universities and news outlets support the award by nominating one intern per year:
