This is the second of two Coaches Clinics the Kings will host during the 2007-08 Season. On Saturday December 8th, a group of 40 local coaches attended the initial session held prior to the Kings vs. Phoenix Coyotes game. Kings Head Coach Marc Crawford, Assistant Coach and Director of Amateur Development Jamie Kompon, Strength and Conditioning Coach Chad Smith, and Phoenix Television Analyst Darren Pang all conducted 30 to 45 minute sessions, in between viewing the Kings and Coyotes morning skates and a certification segment from USA Hockey’s Larry Bruyere.

“To be able to rub elbows with the best of the best and to have them pass on any sort of tidbits and knowledge is a great opportunity for any coach,” Assistant Coach and Director of Development Jamie Kompon said of this and other coaching clinics that he has been involved in. “We see the importance of it from where we are now and we want to continue to grow the sport from the youth level up.

“It’s an opportunity for all of us coaches to give back to where we started from and impart the knowledge we have picked up. We are hopeful that we get the word out and the sport continues to grow.”

At the upcoming clinic, the agenda will be the same - two Kings' coaches will speak, while one coach from the visiting NHL team (Calgary), and the Kings Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Chad Smithwill speak on a variety of subjects. Stay tuned to LAKings.com as the event date gets closer as the coaches involved will be confirmed shortly.

Starting at just $50, each participant will view each of the team's morning skates, participate in a series of presentations from the above coaches, receive a 300-level ticket (upgrades available) to a Kings games (1/5 vs. Calgary, or 1/8 vs. Nashville), a Kings gift bag and a continental breakfast.
