The Kings fell to 0-2-0 on the season, falling 1-0 to San Jose on Sunday night at STAPLES Center.

LINE UP SHAKE UP
Michal Handzus, who looked strong in the Season Opener and tallied an assist on the Kings lone goal, was elevated to the second line where he centered for Alexander Frolov and Wayne Simmonds. Matt Moulson stayed on the Kings No. 1 line with Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown until about half way through the second period when he was replaced by Patrick O’Sullivan.

Sully started on the Kings’ third line with Jarret Stoll and Oscar Moller, with a fourth line of Raitis Ivanans, Brian Boyle and Derek Armstrong. The Kings scratches were Brad Richardson, Peter Harrold and Kyle Calder.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB
Bob Miller celebrated his 70th birthday today. After the loss, the Kings are now 9-6-4 all-time on Miller’s birthday. Miller was born on Oct. 12, 1938, he has been the Kings announcer since 1973.

The Kings Ice Crew made their debut and they were cheered just about every time they were on the ice…tonight was the 100th meeting between the Kings and Sharks, (Los Angeles is 43-46-11)…Kopitar was assessed a 10-minute misconduct after breaking the glass by the bench when he slammed his stick against it after a shift…Kopitar entered the game with just 46 PIMs in 155 games in his NHL career…Jack Johnson did not play in the third period after suffering an upper extremity injury. Coach Terry Murray said that he would be evaluated on Monday…the game was a sell out with 18,118 at STAPLES Center despite Game 3 of the NLCS going on simultaneously as the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Philadelphia Phillies.
