LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings signed goaltender Martin Jones to a three-year entry level contact, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced Thursday. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Jones was later returned to his junior team, the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League. In addition, center David Meckler and defenseman Viatcheslav Voynov were assigned to Manchester Monarchs.

Jones, 18, has been participating in Kings training camp on a tryout basis. He played in 27 games this past season with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, and recorded an 18-8-1 record, a 2.12 goals-against-average, a .911 save percentage and one shutout. He also played in five playoff games.

Jones is a 6-1, 165-pound native of North Vancouver, British Columbia. He played with the Hitmen in 2006-07 and had a 9-4-3 record, a 3.03 goals-against-average and a .884 save percentage.

The Kings have 32 players remaining on their 2008 Training Camp roster (18 forwards, 11 defensemen and three goaltenders).
