JOHNSTON, LEWIS TO NOT RETURN
Johnston and Lewis will not return to the Coaching Staff; Johnston offered position within the organization

Johnston was hired by the Kings on July 10, 2006, and has served the past two seasons as the club’s Associate Coach. Johnston had previously worked as an Associate Coach in Vancouver for six seasons (1999-06) and as a Head Coach and General Manager with Team Canada for five seasons (1994-99).
Lewis was hired by the Kings on Aug. 28, 2007, and he served as Assistant Coach with the club for one season. He had previously worked as a Head Coach in both Boston (2006-07) and Detroit (2002-04), and as an Associate Coach (1996-02) and as an Assistant Coach (1988-96) with Detroit following a 15-year playing career that included three seasons with the Kings (from 1979-83) including serving as the club’s captain for two seasons. He had one year remaining on his contract.
New Head Coach Terry Murray’s coaching staff is as follows: Mark Hardy (Assistant Coach – announced today), Jamie Kompon (Assistant Coach), Nelson Emerson (Assistant Coach/Development Coordinator) and Bill Ranford (Goaltending Coach).
