KOPITAR NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM
|LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Kings forward Anze Kopitar has been selected to play for the Western Conference All-Star squad at the 2008 NHL All-Star Game at Atlanta’s Philips Arena on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. PT, the NHL announced Thursday.

The second-year forward had a career-high eight-game point streak (6-6=12), which lasted from Nov. 28 to Dec. 12. During that stretch he had two three-game goal-scoring streaks, which was also a career high.
Last season Kopitar finished third among NHL rookies in assists (41), points (61), power-play points (29), average time-on-ice (20:32) and average power play time-on-ice (4:37). He was second among rookies in power-play assists (22) and tied for fifth in power-play goals (seven).
Originally selected by the Kings in the first-round (11th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Kopitar has 101 points (37-64=101) and 34 penalty minutes in 116 career games with the Kings.
