The Kings have partnered with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles since 2010, and their relationship is about much more than advertisements on a sideboard or numbers on a bottom line.
The association between the Kings and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has developed into more than a business partnership.
“Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is such an important part of the LA community and the Kings are honored to partner with them whenever we can,” says Jennifer Pope, Kings Director Community Relations.
In addition to being a business partner of the organization for the past three years, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has served as an inspiration. Kings players regularly make visits to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and when they do, they always leave with a feeling that they have received far more than they have given.
“Whether it’s conducting blood drives outside STAPLES Center, bringing kids to a game, visiting the hospital with members of our team, or raising funds and awareness for the hospital and their campaigns, everybody in the organization loves doing it,” Pope says.
In addition to having a place in the hearts of everyone in the Kings organization, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will have a presence at STAPLES Center this season with a booth on the concourse. On March 7, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will distribute 18,000 t-shirts prior to the Kings game versus Dallas.
Making an impact on the Kings and their fans is nothing new to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
During the Kings’ run to the Stanley Cup last spring, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles played a major role. The Kings partnered with them on the Platelets for Playoffs program and enlisted Kings fans to donate platelets at the hospital.
This season, fans are invited to participate in other interactive events, courtesy of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, including a skills competition and rink tours.
“They are a great partner of ours,” Pope says. “I’m sure the relationship will continue for a long time.”
