Kings To Host The Northrop Grumman Four-Day ‘Science Of Hockey’ Event At Toyota Sports Center

The Program Teaches Middle School Aged Children About The Importance Of Math And Science In The Game Of Hockey

LOS ANGELES – The Northrop Grumman four-day ‘Science of Hockey’ event will take place on Tuesday, February 19, through Friday, February 22 at the Los Angeles Kings’ training facility, the Toyota Sports Center, the team announced today.

Over 250 middle school aged children will attend the four-day event that serves as one of several Northrop Grumman educational outreach activities for National Engineers Week (February 17-23), aimed at encouraging young students to take greater interest in, and increase their understanding of, engineering and technology.

Scheduled to participate in the ‘Science of Hockey’ event are Kings’ players Rob Scuderi and Davis Drewiske, as well as Kings’ television color commentator and former Kings forward Jim Fox. Scuderi, Drewiske and Fox will discuss how math and science are related to the fundamentals of hockey over the course of the four-day event. All kids participating in the event will take part in a skating session and receive two tickets to an upcoming Kings home game.

Each day’s event is scheduled to take place at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. each day.
