On June 24, the Kings hired former Flyers head coach John Stevens (2006-09: 120-109-34, 2008 Eastern Conference Finals) as an assistant coach. Stevens also coached the Phantoms (AHL, 2000-06, posting a 230-181-69, 2005 Calder Cup champs). Stevens was drafted in the 3rd round by the Flyers in 1984 and scored 0-10-10 in 53 NHL games for the Flyers and Whalers.
